Only twenty years have passed since the world recovered from the chaos surrounding the last Sundering.
Twenty years since humanity had easy access to the gift of magic the Creator had granted them. Twenty years since humanity violated the Seven Maxims given by the Creator after the previous Sundering to govern the use of magic.
So why does it fall to an immature, selfish, and reckless acolyte of the Great Conclave to raise the alarm when he stumbles upon incontrovertible evidence that the ones chiefly responsible for keeping humanity from breaking the Seven Maxims are not only not doing so, but actively conspiring amongst each other to betray them?
And why doesn't he care?
